Paul Krafel
Paul Krafel is a writer, naturalist, and ecological thinker who restored an entire biological ecosystem by making tiny interventions in the right places, on his own.
He is best known for the idea of “upward spirals”: self-reinforcing patterns that keep going once we create the right conditions for them to emerge.
His self-produced movie The Upward Spiral is an excellent entry point to his view. He describes how upward spirals are created by shifting relative balance in relevant places.
Paul Krafel is little known, and he deserves more recognition. His work isn't theoretical or abstract. It's more like applied systems science one can use to create more abundance in the world.
